Linda Bergemann

Linda joined SWE in 1989 and is a Charter member of SWE-NESS. In addition to Section Representative, she has held the positions of President, Vice President, Career Guidance Chair and Membership Chair. Linda also maintains the mailing list database and sews felt logos for SWE banners sold as a fundraiser.

Linda has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Rhode Island.

Linda has worked as a structural engineer for Electric Boat Corporation in Groton, CT since 1975. She currently holds the position of Technical Leader for the Manufacturing Engineering Group. In this position, Linda is responsible for overseeing the work of about sixty engineers and designers producing tools, fixtures and manufacturing procedures for use in the construction of submarines. Her group is also responsible for engineering heavy lifts and transport of submarine modules weighing up to 1400 tons around and between Electric Boat� Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT facilities.

Linda� avocations include traveling, camping, astronomy and model railroading. She recently moved from a condo in Warwick to a house in rural Charlestown, and is enjoying working around the house and yard. And, the shorter commute gives her more time for FUN!
