MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CHAIR & ARCHIVES CHAIR

Donna Matthews

Donna is a 1989 charter member of NESS and a has been a SWE member since 1983. She has held many executive council and committee chair positions within the Section that include Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and two terms as President. She currently is also dual-hatted as chair of the Membership and History&Archives committees.

Donna received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from UMASS Dartmouth and her MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. Donna has worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport RI since 1985 and is currently a mechanical engineer in the Missiles and Launchers Department. She actively participates in "Bring A Child To Work Day" at NUWC and the Center's Christmas Families Appeal. (Donna is another one of our members that we can't figure out how she finds the time!)

Although Donna has dedicated a large amount of her time to so many activities, she enjoys puttering around her home, gardening, skiing, traveling, sewing, and spending time with her husband and her two sons.
