Section Secretary

According to the SWE-NESS Section Bylaws, the Secretary shall:

1) Record, prepare, maintain and distribute as directed the minutes of each meeting of the Section and the Executive Council.

2) Carry on the Section correspondence as requested by the President and Executive Council.

3) Send out amendments to Bylaws to all members.

4) Maintain a file with a copy of all correspondence sent out in the name of the society.

Additional Duties:

5) Provide the Newsletter Editor with any pertinent information about all Section level activities and submit by the deadline.

6) Write and distribute personalized letters of thanks to speakers and other contributors to section activities.

7) Provide the Section Rep with pertinent correspondence for Section functions to be included in the Activity Records.

8) Prepare yearly budget required to support duties of the Secretary.

9) Notification letter of New Officers & Chairs is required to SWE National and the SWE-NESS bank to allow validation of signature cards.

The Secretaryís position is a situational job.  In addition to duties defined above, she may be called upon to handle various tasks essential to the administration of the Section, but these will probably be infrequent.  An answering system and E-Mail is a must.

Time Commitment:     Meeting Minutes, etc. 3-4 hrs per meeting.
                                     Newsletter Support 1 hr/month.
                                     General correspondence  1/2 hour per item.
