Student Section Counselor

The Student Section Counselor shall:

1) Establish & maintain contact with a faculty advisor.

2) Must be a SWE voting member in good standing.

3) Must be chosen by the Student Section, or if appointed must be accepted by the Student Section.

4) Shall serve as an information source about SWE and its goals.

5) Is a liaison between industry, the local professional SWE Section and the Student Section.

6) Shall act as a role model and source of moral support.

7) Shall provide advice and suggestions on Section activities, and, if requested, arrange plant tours and locate speakers from industry.

8) Shall attend Student Section meetings and special events whenever possible.

9) Shall act as a mediator as questions and problems arise, utilizing the Student Activities Committee and Headquarters as needed.

Each Student Section must have a SWE Counselor.

Time Commitment:   4 hrs per month
